What Vein Care Is

Vein care treats problems with the veins in your legs, the vessels that carry blood back up toward your heart. When a vein leaks backward (called reflux) or is blocked, blood can pool in your legs and cause aching, heaviness, swelling, and bulging veins.

At Health and Fitness Professionals, Dr. Daniels checks your leg veins with ultrasound and treats them using minimally invasive techniques in our office. With physical therapy and other specialties under the same roof, the rest of your care is close by too.

Dr. Daniels is double board-certified by the American Board of Radiology and the American Board of Phlebology. He earned his MD from Jefferson Medical College, completed his radiology residency at Pennsylvania Hospital (UPenn) as Chief Resident, then his Interventional Radiology fellowship at Temple University Hospital. He specializes in minimally invasive treatments for varicose veins and venous disorders.

What kind of doctor will I see?

Dr. Richard Daniels is an interventional radiologist, double board-certified in Radiology and Phlebology, the care of vein disorders. He specializes in minimally invasive treatment of varicose veins, spider veins, and other vein problems.

Is the procedure painful?

The ultrasound exam is painless. For the procedure itself, Dr. Daniels will explain what you may feel before, during, and after, so you know what to expect. Ask him any questions at your visit.

How long is recovery?

These procedures are designed to keep downtime low, but recovery depends on your veins and your treatment. Dr. Daniels will tell you what to expect and when you can return to your usual activities.

Will I need to go to a hospital?

Our vein treatments are minimally invasive and done here in our office. If your evaluation shows you need a different kind of care, Dr. Daniels will explain your options.

When should I get my legs checked?

If your legs often ache, feel heavy, or swell, or you notice bulging veins or skin changes, an evaluation can show whether your veins are the cause.

Do you accept insurance?
