About chiropractic care

What Chiropractic Care Is

Chiropractic care is a hands-on, drug-free way to treat pain in the spine and joints. When a joint stops moving the way it should, the muscles around it tighten and guard, and pain follows.

Your chiropractor uses precise adjustments, gentle mobilization, and soft tissue work to restore that motion. It can be used on its own or alongside physical therapy, acupuncture, and medical care, and here all of those are under one roof.

Inside a visit

What Happens During Chiropractic Care

Every visit is tailored to what your body needs that day. Your care may include:

Spinal adjustments

Quick, controlled movements that restore motion to stiff joints in your neck, mid back, or low back.

Joint mobilization

Slower, gentler movement of a joint through its range. A good option if you prefer not to be adjusted.

Soft tissue work

Hands-on pressure and stretching to release tight, guarded muscles around the painful area.

Movement and posture coaching

Simple exercises and changes to how you sit, lift, and sleep so the progress you make in the office lasts.

i have been coming here for over 6 months and this team is amazing to say the least. they are not only super skilled in what they do, but they also make you feel super comfortable and at home. my treatments have sadly come to an end and i never would’ve thought i would be sad to leave a chiro office. i will definitely be coming back to visit them and i highly recommend this practice to anyone. 11/10

Chiropractic Care FAQ

Still have a question? Call us and a member of our team will help.

Does an adjustment hurt?

Most people feel pressure and sometimes hear a pop, but adjustments should not be painful. Some people are a little sore for a day afterward, much like after exercise.

Do I have to get adjusted?

No. If you would rather not be adjusted, or it is not a good fit for you, Dr. Ragone can use gentle mobilization and soft tissue work instead.

What is the popping sound?

It is gas being released from the fluid inside the joint as it moves. It is not bones cracking, and a successful adjustment does not always make a sound.

How many visits will I need?

It depends on your condition and how long you have had it. Dr. Ragone will give you a plan at your first visit and adjust it as you progress.

Can I see a chiropractor and a physical therapist at the same time?

Yes, and many of our patients do. Your chiropractor and physical therapist work in the same office and coordinate one plan for you.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. We accept most major plans, including Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare, and we verify your benefits before your first visit. Call (908) 282-3737 and we will check your coverage.
